Madison's Dilema by CallThePatentOffice Madison's Dilema by CallThePatentOffice
The time has come (the walrus said) for Madison to shift affiliations!!
ahh theres cocky jefferson here to save the day Again.

"Jefferson created the party in order to oppose the economic and foreign policies of the Federalists, a party created a year or so earlier by Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton...The party (D-R) insisted on a strict construction of the Constitution, and denounced many of Hamilton's proposals (especially the national bank) as unconstitutional. "
[though you gotta love the elastic clause...necessary and proper mmhhhmm]

aah im just messing wit yas. Washington was out of this, against the whole idea of factions really, though he might be considered a federalist. Madison, though not crazy about the idea of political parties, understood their inevitablity and could be considered a federalist in ways as well. Then he jumped on the band-wagon after the arising disagreements with 'other' federalists and helped form the democratic-republican party..oooo yeaaah.

I still love you hamilton!!!<3<3<3<3<3<3 :D
tho i do seem to have a love of drawing madison in very annoying caricatures, ;)

"Madison had this telling comment about organizing an opposition to Alexander Hamilton's ambitious fiscal and economic plans: "the spirit of party revenge," he wrote to Jefferson, "may be wreaked thro' the forms of the Constitution.""
